Installing It
- Clean the glass properly. Soap scum and hard water spots are the only real cause of failed installs.
- Wet the glass and the film. Spray both generously with soapy water so you can slide the film into position instead of committing on first contact.
- Apply and squeegee. Push bubbles from the centre outward in firm, overlapping strokes.
- Trim and wait. Trim the excess against the frame, then leave it 24 hours before running the shower.
Twenty minutes, no tools, no installer. It peels off cleanly if you are renting. Expect five to eight years of life in a bathroom ā constant humidity is harder on film than a dry room.
One thing to avoid: reflective sun-control film. It cuts heat, but at night with the bathroom light on it turns see-through. Wrong tool for this room.
